My Story
If you've read a lot of Direct Sales consultant's stories, you may have seen many are stay-at-home moms looking to spend more time with their children, or moms earning additional income for dance classes, soccer lessons, baseball fees, or other sports expenses. MY story is a little different. With no kids of my own, my step-daughter grown with a family of her own now, I found myself no longer with a "purpose" when I got sick and lost my career of 13 years. After a few "misses" trying to figure out where I go now, I bought a Scentsy warmer and a Scentsy wax bar to add to my "collection" of all things smelly. And it CHANGED MY LIFE!!!! (Who knew?!?!) I didn't even know what Scentsy was--I just knew it was a scent product for the home and I have a high addiction to making my home smell good. But I soon found out when I received my product that THIS was different! It scented my home like NOTHING I had tried before! So, I called a friend about the Direct Sales business in general and decided to give it a go--I LOVED the product and, if all else failed, I would have some items to keep from my starter kit. My friend referred me to (who became) my Scentsy sponsor to answer any questions I had. I didn't know this lady from Adam. She didn't live in my town, county, or heck, even my STATE! But I was ready to join and had decided all I needed to do was sell $500 to get my initial start-up investment back; I could surely do that between my family and my close friends. And you know what? I was right---AND THEN SOME!!! 10 months later, I earned a trip for 2 to Hard Rock Resort and Casino in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The next year, I earned a trip to Hawaii (2 things marked off my bucket list with that one trip). I flew and roomed with a "Scentsy Sister" I met in Punta Cana--we've become friends since meeting!! Then, a trip to Atlantis, Paradise Island Bahamas in 2014; a cruise in the Caribbean where I took my lil' momma on her 1st trip out of the country, in 2015; a trip to Disney with my fiance in 2016; back to Punta Cana with my aunt who was celebrating cancer recovery in 2017; to Italy, Spain, and France, taking my sister-in-law on HER 1st trip out of the country in 2018; and to Marco Island with my husband in 2019. I didn't take my other earned trips (2020-2023) since because of other choices, BUT one day I may decide to go again...??
Heres the thing though....even with FREE trips, the most rewarding part is being able to help out others in need with FUNdraisers and donations!!
I've met some OUTSTANDING people along the way and have formed (and rekindled) some forever lasting friendships. And to think, it all started when I fell in love with a product but, along my journey, I also fell in love with a company.
